Fresh off of her triumphant (and surprising!) 2015 Festival debut, Conductor Laura Jackson returns to explore Tchaikovsky’s equally triumphant (and surprising!) Symphony No. 4. You won’t want to miss this pavilion-raising piece, played by our talented Wintergreen Festival Orchestra. The concert begins with Sibelius’ majestic Symphony No. 7, a one-movement symphony worthy of the grand Blue Ridge Mountains, and features a stunning concerto for two violins and orchestra by living composer Anna Clyne. This is a season finale to remember!

Premiere professional performances of the new critical editions of the George Gershwin's original 1924 jazz band version of Rhapsody in Blue (James Winn, piano soloist) and his landmark tone poem An American in Paris, which helped inspire the current hit Broadway show. The award-winning Donald Sinta Saxophone Quartet will perform on the Gershwin works and solo as an ensemble in William Bolcom's jazzy Concerto for Saxophone Quartet and Orchestra. Bernstein's Symphonic Dances from West Side Story brings the concert to a climactic finish.
