The Reno Phil extends Laura Jackson's contract as Music Director through 2028-2029 season

Reno, Nev. (April 19, 2024) — The Reno Philharmonic is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with Laura Jackson to continue to lead the orchestra through the 2028 – 2029 season. Jackson has spent the last 15 years as the Music Director and Conductor of the Reno Phil and will continue to champion the Reno Phil’s efforts to offer innovative musical experiences.

Reno Philharmonic Appoints Laura Jackson

The Reno Gazette-Journal just announced that Laura Jackson has been appointed the new music director and conductor of the Reno Philharmonic. She is the fourth conductor to hold a position with the ensemble and first woman.

In Sunday’s (3/29) Reno Gazette-Journal (Nevada), Forrest Hartman reports, “The Reno Philharmonic has hired Laura Jackson as its new music director and conductor, and executive director Tim Young says she was the favorite not only of the search committee but of orchestra musicians and the public.
